Day One: Dallas, Tx – San Marcos, Tx

Day One
Dallas, Texas – San Marcos, Texas
260 miles

After a stressful day at work I left Dallas thinking about a project I was unable to finish. I wasn’t sure if it was okay to leave since I was departing a day earlier than schedule.
Regardless, what was done was done and I was ready to ride the five hours that would take me to meet my friend in San Marcos, Texas.
Before I left I met my girlfriend and she brought me some items I thought I may need. After a short goodbye I left on my big adventure. Highway 75 was empty and somehow I was off to a good start.
Five miles later, the biggest traffic jam had stalled me and left me driving five miles per hour for the next 45 minutes. Great way to start, my mind was wandering until finally things started moving. I finally got out of town and was on cruise control.
The weather was good, the temperature was nice but the more I rode the colder it got. I had bought a little temperature gauge gadget that I put on the bike the day before. I used double tape to attach it to the console. When I tried to press the light button, the thing fell off….Bye, bye temp gauge.
A hundred and fifty miles later I started to get tired, the day at work plus the mileage had a toll on me. I was feeling fatigued. I saw a Denny’s restaurant and decided to get something to eat. I ordered a “super bird” which is like a club sandwich. The thing was nasty yet I ate it. Sitting next to me was a black guy wearing a baseball cap with a black guy wearing a baseball cap on it, weird.
The dinner didn’t help, I was still fatigued and tired and worst of all kind of groggy, I guess because of the digestion. I started thinking about music and ended up singing out loud to myself to stay awake. My voice is so awful that it did the trick. The next 150 miles were a dream because I can’t remember how I got to San Marcos.
